Upcoming Events Around NOLA
Lots of collectors events, music, and more!
There’s a ton of cool and interesting events happening around New Orleans!
I have listed them below in chronological order, and will be updating/sending out the list beginning and middle of each month.
I won’t be at all of these, but you should be! Check them out by clicking Links below each picture.
Secret show. You read it here first. No additional information is available or needed.
Crescent City Comics has thousands of $1 comics, and a good selection of discounted collected editions for sale on 4/18! Sometimes there’s even a box of toys out on a table or two. I try to go to each one of these they put on and then stop for coffee across the street. They have a handful of these sales a year! Check it out before the good stuff is gone!
The CCC website is here
The Capital City show is back again on 5/3. This is an interesting show with lots of vendors who don’t normally appear at the other events listed here. I always find something cool for my personal collection at this event. Check it out!
The New Pornographers are playing at the classic Dead Media Market venue Chelsea’s Live on 5/17! Not sure if I will be attending or not, but check out the Chelsea’s Live site here!
The Toasters are kings of ska. If you grew up watching Nickelodeon from the ‘90s, you may remember the theme song for KaBlam! They have a bunch more music, and you can hear it on 5/22 at Santos Bar in New Orleans. Check it out and pick it up!
TsuShiMiRi is returning to Gasa Gasa on 5/23! I saw them the last time they were in Nola, and it was a real treat! Art-Punk from Japan! The crowd was really rockin and so was the band. Super cool night. I highly recommend that you go. Find out more info here
Alright folks, this is the big one. Twice a year, the St Tammany Collectors Con puts together the best convention in the state. They cater to the vendors and collectors, and each year it gets bigger and better. If you go to one collecting event a year, make it this one! Be sure to make it to Mandeville on 11/14-15
More info can be found here
You may have heard the buzz about a little movie called Amityvillenado, which is now streaming on Tubi and Plex and Youtube!. If you haven’t come across the film yet, Give the soundtrack listen on Spotify (and a save!) to get yourself in the right mood before you bunker down with some friends and prepare for the storm.
