Upcoming Events Around NOLA
Lots of collectors events, music, and more!
There’s a ton of cool and interesting events happening around New Orleans!
I have listed them below in chronological order, and will be updating/sending out the list beginning and middle of each month.
I won’t be at all of these, but you should be! Check them out by clicking Links below each picture.
Crescent City Comics has thousands of $1 comics, and a good selection of discounted collected editions for sale on 3/21! Sometimes there’s even a box of toys out on a table or two. I try to go to each one of these they put on and then stop for coffee across the street. They have a handful of these sales a year! Check it out before the good stuff is gone!
The CCC website is here
Dead Media Market! The next one is on 3/21 at Chelsea’s Live in Baton Rouge.
This is a must-attend event for those who have a passion for physical media. Hundreds of VHS tapes, Vinyl records, video games, comic books, wax packs, toys, and more! Free admission! This event rotates locations, and is friendly to new vendors.
Check it the Facebook page for these events here
There’s an amazing video made by my friend at SaleOsaurus about the last Dead Media Market a few weeks ago. Be sure to watch this video to get an idea about this event before you get your stinkin paws on these damn dirty tapes!
Amityvillenado is streaming on a bunch of places that you probably already have an account for on 3/24. If you are the type of person who reads this newsletter, you may have already seen some buzz about this movie and wondered what the heck it is. Well all I can say is that you just have to see for yourself. Find out more info here!
Louisiana Tiki Fest is happening once again in Baton Rouge. It’s happening on 3/27-29. A fun weekend if you like tiki drinks. On Saturday 3/28 during the “Saturday Sip, Shop, & Seminars” I will once again be vending at this event. It’s usually a cool time, although this isn’t what you may be thinking when you hear “fest”. There’s a lot of seminars about rum and people hosting classes. I honestly don’t know what really goes on during these seminars, because I am vending at a table. Get more info at the Louisiana Tiki Fest website here!
Alright folks, this is the big one. Twice a year, the St Tammany Collectors Con puts together the best convention in the state. They cater to the vendors and collectors, and each year it gets bigger and better. They just announced that the co-creator or Rogue will be attending. Cool! If you go to one collecting event a year, make it this one! Be sure to make it to Mandeville on 4/11-12
More info can be found here
The Capital City show is back again on 5/3. This is an interesting show with lots of vendors who don’t normally appear at the other events listed here. I always find something cool for my personal collection at this event. Check it out!
The Toasters are kings of ska. If you grew up watching Nickelodeon from the ‘90s, you may remember the theme song for KaBlam! They have a bunch more music, and you can hear it on 5/22 at Santos Bar in New Orleans. Check it out and pick it up!
St. Patrick’s Day is the next holiday that I have a playlist made for. Unfortunately, it is one of my shortest playlists ever! Only two and a half hours! Sheesh. I need to beef this thing up. If you have any suggestions for cool Celtic music, let me know! Check out the link to the playlist Here!
